Thanks for your interest in being a published author with Youth Writers Rock. This is a writing project led by The Youth Writers Challenge (YWC).

We’ve partnered with the Orokawa YMCA in Towson, Maryland. All YWR sessions will be held there every other Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Youth Writers Rock 2023 session (February 2023-May 2023). During those sessions, our mentors work with young writers to help develop stories.

There is NO fee for students to participate in this program.

You must submit an essay (200 words minimum) about one of the following topics:
1. Tell us why you want to be in the Youth Writers Rock program.
2. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go, and why?
3. Who is your hero/mentor, and why?
4. What is one of your greatest accomplishments?
5. If you could change anything in the world what would and be, and why?

Welcome to Youth Writers Rock!

The Youth Writers Rock program is a program under The Youth Writers Challenge (YWC) 501(c)(3) organization. The Youth Writers Rock program is a community-based organization dedicated to providing local youth with the positive support and encouragement to groom their minds in the art of creative writing. World renowned writer Robert Frost once stated , ‘I write to find out what I didn’t know I knew.’ That quote best summarizes the overall goal of YWC. Our aim is to inspire vivid, practical approaches for youth to refine budding skills.
